DAY 2 - WHAT'S MOST IMPORTANT?
Welcome to lesson #2: WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT?
I hope yesterday’s lesson gave you clarity about your current situation, - what is not working in your life, and what is. That’s a good start! You’ve already made the first step in the direction of a new and intentional life!
So you have already established more clarity about how you experience your current life situation. Today you will learn a method that will help you dig a little deeper. I want you to get a clear vision in your mind about what matters most to you.
Because, like you learned in the first lesson, simple and intentional living is all about letting go of the non-essential to make room for what truly matters.
Sometimes we think we already know what we want, and sometimes we're just too busy to think about it. But If we don't ask questions about what matters most, we end up going through life without a clear direction.
This can make our life feel busy, but unfulfilling, and we might try to solve the problem by adding more to our life: more stuff, more activities... But deep down, nothing changes, because we forgot to listen to our hearts.
You don't have to have everything figured out, but if you don't at least choose a direction for your life, you'll just end up wherever the road takes you.
You probably started this course because you crave more simplicity in your life.
But what exactly does that word mean to you?
When you dig beneath the surface (beyond a tidy home, a nice car, a great wardrobe),
you may have a picture in your mind of a different kind of life, a simpler life, - and this picture
reveals a lot about your values and priorities.
So let’s dig a bit deeper!
Here is what I want you to do today:
Take out your journal and describe - in detail - what a simple life means to you.
Just go with the flow and try to describe what “simple living” looks like in your mind.
The following questions may help, but you don’t need to answer them all:
-How do you feel when you wake up in the morning?
-What are your last thoughts before you go to sleep at night?
-As you move through your day, what makes you happy?
Use all your senses to describe your surroundings.
What do you smell?
Can you hear anything?
-What makes you feel satisfied?
-What makes you feel proud of yourself?
-What excites you?
-What do you need more of in your life, and what do you need less of?
When you're finished, read through what you've written.
Do you think you can sum up what is most important to you now?
In just 2 days you have already come so far on your journey to living a more intentional life!
How does that feel!?
I think that’s pretty awesome! You can be proud of yourself!
As we move on to the next lesson, I hope you will keep your answers close to your heart. Because what you have now discovered about yourself and your life
are really vital tools to make meaningful change.
From now on, I suggest that when you are faced with a decision
(everything from "Should I buy this jacket?" to "Should I quit my job?"),
How does this fit with my vision of a simple and intentional life?
Is it moving me towards - or away from the life I really want?
This is what it means to live with intention!
You consciously choose what you want in your life and not.
That’s all for today!
Tomorrow I will give you what we might call a Mini Challenge that is directly connected to actively choosing what you want in life! So get ready for that!
See you then!
