What does it really mean to live "the French way"? Are there no variations to how the French live their lives? Are they all the same?
These might be questions that go through your head, - and rightfully so.
Of course all French are not the same. Some are aristocrats, some are bohèmes, others are burgeois, some are peasants who live off the land. Their daily life may differ in many ways, just as in any other country.
However: They all have some things in common: They live with passion, and they live well. I've written a blog article that you might enjoy, where I dive deeper into why I swear by the French lifestyle.
Being a woman myself, it's only natural that my focus is primarily on French women and what seems to be their common denominators. What can we all learn from them?
There are a few myths around French women. Some are true, and others not quite so true, like the myth that French women don't get fat. Actually, some of them do. BUT - and there's a big BUT: French women in general have a positive body image, and don't focus on whether they are thin or fat. And they certainly don't TALK about it! Instead, they make sure they incorporate exercise into their daily routines.
- They don't rush through their days, constantly feeling obliged to put everyone else first or finish all sorts of tasks
- They savor and make room for good conversation
- They prioritize education over money and make sure they learn about (and keep themselves up-to-date on) various topics so they always have something to talk about
- They enjoy good food without feeling guilty about it, and never eat standing up or "on the go"
- They exercise in a good way, without making it a duty
- They have an active life
- They simplify things so they don't overwhelm them or take up too much space, neither physically nor mentally
- They prioritize quality over quantity in all things.
These are all things I constantly write about on my blog, and also talk about on EKN - Else Kosberg Network, so don't forget to follow me there so you don't miss any updates!
